La Barrique, Perpignan
La Barrique is a boutique wine shop on the south side of Perpignan. As you come down the Route d’Espagne from Leader Price, turn right at the roundabout by the Speedy Garage. The shop is on the right and has easy parking. Marie is very friendly and speaks English (and is keen to improve). She has a well-chosen selection of Roussillon Wines, concentrating on newer, high quality producers who offer good value for money. There is also a great selection of Scotch Whisky and some very old Muscats. Open every day from 9:30 to 12:30 and 14:30 to 19:30 except Monday morning and Sunday afternoon. 16, av Marechal Juin. Domaine Treloar
Domaine Treloar is a small, high-quality vineyard and winery run by an English / New Zealand family. It was one of only 4 Cotes du Roussillon producers to receive three recommendations is the prestigious Guide Hachette (2009), including 2 stars for their TAHI. They sell a range of wines direct from the cellar-door, which is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons, or by appointment. Cave Gustumo, Canet
Cave Gustumo is situated on the road running up to Espace Mediterrannee in Canet Plage. It’s a small wine merchant with a well-chosen selection of wines from the region. Jean-Phillipe used to be a winemaker and has worked in Chile as well as 12 years at Chateau Caladroy in Belesta. He speaks very good English.
