Love reading? The George & Dragon, Argelès, will be hosting the next meeting of the book club on Saturday 16th May at 5pm, to discuss The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini as well as considering future book choices. Whether you have read the book or not, whether you only want to come for a general chat about books or just sit on the sidelines and listen, everyone is welcome.
Easy to find, The George & Dragon is on the main road from village to beach, just before you arrive at the main beach roundabout. loads of easy parking on right of roundabout.
A good chance to meet new people too, with similar interests.
THE KITE RUNNER
Amir, a well-to-do boy from the Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, is tormented by the guilt of abandoning his friend Hassan, the son of his father’s Hazara servant. The story is set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of the monarchy in Afghanistan through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the Taliban regime.
