Further information www.ceretmusic.com Trad-Dance workshops - alternating Weds ( 20.45) at Boulternère, 66130 (Salle Jules Gaspard) and Fourgues 66300(Foyer Rural), starting with Fourques on the 29th September, 2010. Run by the Association ’Dans Six Mois’ , this is not Sardane Dancing, but involves all the old dances that were popular in France and Europe up until the Second World War. They were transmitted naturally from generation to generation until the American styles of music and dance took over. Now there is an amazing re-surgence and ’Danse-Trad’ is becoming increasingly popular with all age groups, with regular, packed ’Bals’ all around the P.O. that are great fun, a lovely way to integrate and make new friends. Come and learn the romantic mazurka, the lively scottish, the mesmeric Breton dances, the spanish style fandangos and jotas, the Basque ’saut’ dances: a wide variety of dances in couples, pairs, circles, sets, groups. Whether you are a beginner or just love dancing there is something for everyone! The workshops are free, however an annual fee of 35e covers association membership and insurance. Starting with a joint picnic lunch ( répas hors sac/ bring your own) at midday and going on ’til late afternoon/early evening. This workshop will concentrate on the ’Contredanses’ group of dances — ie country dances from a variety of anglophone countries. The Mini-bal continues on with the danses popular to all the Trad-Bals: mazurka/scottish/rondeau/ bourrée/sauts/polka etc. Run by the Association ’Dans Six mois’ this session is free: so come and enjoy a fun afternnon! Trad- Dance intensive course, concentrating on the Majorcan styles of Fandangos and Jotas, taught by specialist Nurya Vinyoles. Course times: 14.00-18.00 Sat 27th and 10.00am to 13.00 Sun 28th. As part of the week-end there will be a ’Bal-Trad’ on Sat evening, the 27th, 21.00 with music by ’Huma la Craba’; ’Combieurs de Sons’ and Yves Gras.
