MARATHON DE PERPIGNAN DES LIONS CATALANS
ET LA COURSE DES 10 KM
CHARITY EVENT IN AID OF THE VISUALLY AND HEARING IMPAIRED
Every year, more than 800 participants take part in "courir pour la vue, courir pour la vie" All profit from these two seperate races, a marathon and a 10km race, goes towards the purchase of special equipement for the visually and hearing impaired.
MARATHON - (departure at 9 h 00)
Starting on a tarmac course, this marathon leaves from the front of the Castillet, passes through the town centre for 3 km (Dames de France, place Arago), to the Las Cobas, through the Jardins Saint Jacques to Mas Llaro, from where the runners wind their way through the vines of the plaine du Roussillon towards the Med and the Canet étangs. The second part passes through four old villages (not named) and follows the river Têt to arrive back at Perpignan la Catalane.
10 km RACE - (departure 9 h 10)
The race leaves the Place du Castillet and follows the first part of the marathon course, heading through the town centre for 3 km (Dames de France, place Arago), to the Las Cobas, through the Jardins Saint Jacques before heading back to the town centre.
Both races take place on a maximum of cycle tracks and small, traffic free roads
