Perpignan Marathon

 

 

The Perpignan Marathon, now renamed “LA PERPINYANE DES LIONS CATALANS”, consists of a semi marathon (21,100 km) alongside the usual ten kilometre race, a team challenge, and a children’s race. (The marathon of 42,195km has been suspended.)

Over 1200 runners are expected to attend these runs through the historical centre of Perpignan, with a prize for the best fancy dress.

All profit from these races will go to charitable organisations. This year, proceeds will go to the disabled and the visually impaired, abused, disabled and ill children, autisme, and animal protection animale. Last year, 15000 € was raised.

Runners will depart the Castillet in Perpignan on May 19th 2013 at 8h30. Even if you don’t need the exercise, why not come along and support the courageous competitors and a worthy cause, a sporting and humanitarian event where there will be stands, musi and a great atmosphere of solidarity!
