No more Bac pro in winemaking

A rather unique Bac (equivalent to A Level) in viticulture offered at the Lycée de Rivesaltes is to close its doors due to lack of interest. With only 5 requests to register for the 2008 course in September, as opposed to 15 when the course first started 15 years ago,the school has now been obliged to scrap the course completely. According to the lycée admin, young people are no longer interested in following this path when vineyards are being ripped out, and the job is seen as very very hard and time consuming, often for minimum reward.
