Palm trees in Perpignan

The Perpignan landscape management department has been obliged to remove palm trees which were transplanted in the Place de la Sardane in Perpignan, during renovation of the place, as they had become diseased and weakened.

Four large deciduous trees, very resistant and long living, will replace them, expected to cloak the ’place’ in a warm golden glow in autumn, but it is always sad to see trees uprooted, especially palm trees which are very representative of the Med atmosphere.
