Perpignan celebrates European week.

 

It is 63 years since the ‘Schuman Declaration’, made by the then French Foreign Minister, Robert Schuman, on 9 May 1950, and considered to be the first steps towards the birth of the European Union.

As every year the Perpignan dons the colours of Europe in a programme which includes exhibitions from Ireland, Croatia and various european institutions.

Competitions, tombola, reduced price tickets at the Castillet cinema, lunch with an Irish theme in several of the town’s restaurants, entertainment for adults and children at the place de la Republique, sardanes, concert in the courtyard of the museum Rigaud……

The opportunity to learn more about Europe and maybe walk away with a garnet pendant or Ipad!
