The long awaited Sky High Definition Boxes have reached France and are proving to be worth the wait - it needs to be seen to believed.
WHAT IT DOES!
It’s bigger, better and sharper and has transformed TV viewing forever.
HD makes TV look incredible with intensely breathtaking colourful, extremely clear and stunningly sharp images and Dolby surround sound.
Sky will broadcast a whole range programming including Premiership football, movies, sports, entertainment and documentaries
The Sky HD box will be equipped with 160GB of personal storage space. This equates to around 30 hours of storable HD footage or 80 hours of standard definition footage. The Sky HD box will also offer Sky+ functions, allowing subscribers to pause and rewind live TV, record two channels simultaneously and automatically record every episode of a selected series.
WHAT YOU NEED!
High Definition broadcasts carry four times more information than the standard TV we watch today.
To be able to view HD you will need a new HD Sky Digibox, relevant subscription and HD ready Plasma/Lcd.
Your Plasma/Lcd must have a new type of connection called HDMI or DVI with HDCP (High bandwidth digital copyright protection).
Only screens with a resolution capable of displaying 720p or 1080i lines will work with HD.
