Strike Thursday 10 May - Border staff strikes will affect flights


 

Unions representing UK Border Force officers on the the passport control desks and borders will stage a one day strike next Thursday, likely to cause massive disruption to flights and ferry travel to and from the UK, and leave Britain’s airports and borders short-staffed..

More than 4,000 members of the Immigration Services Union (ISU), representing the UK’s Border Agency, will join many thousands of public sector workers in a strike at ports and airports all over the country, to protest against the government’s plans to raise the retirement age for public servants.are joining public sector workers in a national strike over pensions on Thursday 10th May, leaving Britain’s airports and borders short-staffed.
