Tous à vélo à Argelès
Michael McDonald tells us....
"I’ve been on these for quite a few years and it’s fun and it’s free. There’s not a great barbeque as previously but there’s coffee/croissants on the start line and something to munch when you get back.
There are two types of rides.....
30 kms ride for more experienced riders which starts at 10:00
12 kms ride for families and anybody from 7 to 77 years old
Bring your own bike or you can rent bikes for 2€ each .
Judging by previous rides, there are monitors and the whole day will be orchestrated. It’s a real good fun day. The routes normally are along quiet roads and there are monitors who control the traffic and make sure everybody gets home safely. The 30 kms route normally stays on flat areas but sometimes it might across the Tech and there’s some small climbs to get back to level areas. They always have a bike mechanic to help, if people have problems during the ride. Normally there’s an Argeles Velo Club group to makes sure runs smoothly.
All riders are given a ticket to the tombola which gives prizes for bikes and other items. This is given at the Argeles Port in the evening. I think it’s 19:00 but it should be verfied during the ride.
Nobody is trying to have a race. It’s just a fun ride and you can talk with other riders while you pedal."
